We tried the buffet at the Divi and it was average as well. Food: I found the food at the buffet to be of average quality and it felt repetitive for us. Even though we went during the peak season, we never had to look hard for a cabana or beach chairs. Entry into the water a little bit tricky but once you are inside, the water was calm and absolutely gorgeous. You could view the breathtaking sunset right from your balcony. Beautiful view from the balcony and the water is just steps away from the room. If you have large suitcases, it could get cramped. We spent a week with our 5 year old in Jan and absolutely enjoyed our stay. It is also further away from all the noise of the downtown area. I may consider the Divi All-inclusive since it has more pools and closer to Eagle beach, a beautiful beach area. The resort is a great value but the way it is laid out, the noise and the lack of pools, I would not return to this resort. I love Aruba and it's friendly and safe atmosphere. Communication seems to be one of their main issues. We were not inform of the delay in the bus transfer but most of it was caused by the flight delay. Not good! The other was the return transfer to the airport. It would have been a disaster if we all tried to get to the location only to find that it was cancelled then. The resort did not communicate this to us. It just happened that a member of our group checked at the location of our tour and found out about it. Due to the Carnival parade it was cancelled but we were not informed. We booked a tour for the Atlantis submarine. We had two issues with the Concierge Services. It almost felt like they were playing right in our room! As would be expected, we did not get much sleep during the night. Since our room was at far end closest to the downtown area, we could hear all the load music late into the night. Carnival season was going on when we were there (mid Jan to end of Feb). The restaurants at Tamirijn and Divi are fairly good but the variety and temperature could be better. They were very sugary and tasted like Tang. The juices at breakfast could be improved. You can get some custom made that is fresh and hot such as hamburgers, omelettes, and crepes. Some of the food at the buffet was not hot enough for me but is normal for buffets. Our room was clean but it needs some maintenance and upgrades. Our beach area was excellent but there are areas further up that are rocky and difficult to enter the water. We wish we could have used the three pools behind our resort (Divi Village) but they were exclusive to the residence there. We never used the pool because it was too far and very busy. Shuttles were provided if you called ahead. It took us about 10 mins to walk back and forth each time. The resort is very vast and our rooms were at far end, the furthest away from the the shopping, restaurants, buffet and pool (Blg 2500). We arrived as a group of 10 with Westjet Vacations. 90 dollars for poor service, awful food and a freezing AC. The waitress came and didn't ask how it went so we just took it on ourselves. Proceeded to eat a bit of my girlfriend's carbonara, but left my full plate back to the kitchen. I ate a bite and had a very hard time to swallow. It looked horrible, a white sauce with tomato bits, with spinach like I have never seen before, and the filet was on the rice. The main plate was grouper filet with sauce and risotto. Starters were pitifully presented, took the antipasto, with ham splattered all over the place, soaked in balsamic vinegar and pesto, the meat wasn't good. The restaurant was messy, they did not seem to know how to manage their reservations, and we stood in line for 10 minutes even if we booked via the reception. We went to the Tamarijn resort, and wanted to try the Italian restaurant, even if we stay at Divi Dutch, so we paid in advance 90 $ for two. We wanted to try something new in the area of the Alhambra, but everything was booked in Divi Aruba.
